Fred R. Burgess Goodfield- Fred Ray Burgess, 79, of 116 E. Fisk St. Goodfield, IL passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at his residence. He was born on July 28, 1929 a son of John and Bertha Shrum Burgess. He married Hannah M. Hunziker on December 24, 1959 in Danvers, IL. She passed away on April 7, 1999. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Burgess of Pekin, IL; Tammy Lynn Burgess of Pekin, IL; Leatha Mae Stiles of Eureka, IL; one brother, Robert Burgess; and one grandson, Allen Stiles of Eureka. He was preceded in death by one stillborn son, Randy; and two brothers, Albert and Dilbert. Fred worked for the Pfister Motor Company and Caterpillar. An Army veteran, he served his country during the Korean War with the Military Police. He was a member of the 40 and 8, Eureka American Legion Post #466, Masonic Lodge, and the Secor Gun Club. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Eureka. Rev. Brian Andrews will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M. at the church before the service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is handling the arrangements.
