Philip A. Whitacre Carlock- Philip A. Whitacre, 54 of 2378 Brown Rd., Carlock passed away at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the Hudson Christian Church. Rev. William Vandervoort will officiate. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Frdiay, December 1, 2006 from 4 to 7 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, 40 W. Main St., El Paso. Philip was born November 9, 1952 at Bloomington a son of Charles and Helen Vandegraft Whitacre. He married Ann Mueller on February 2, 1974 at Springfield. Survivors include, his parents of Hudson; his children Jessica and Ben Whitacre both of Danvers; one brother, Rick (and Gwyneth) Whitacre, Hudson; a sister, Susan (and Dale) Matthews, Laura. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and a brother, Randy. Phil was a contractor and the owner of Whitacre Home Improvement, he also worked for Cleary Buildings as a sales manager. He later, along with his father and brother, owned and operated Whitacre’s Country Oak Shoppe in Hudson. Currently Phil and his children owned and operated Whitacre’s Custom Cabinetry in rural Carlock. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Phil truly enjoyed his many friendships and he will be dearly missed. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
